This isn't really a report but just some information. Moderators, feel free to move if necessary. In Rome, just south of the Villa Borghese park, north of the Barberini plaza/metro stop and just north of the Hard Rock Café, there is a row of bars on Via Emilia. The first one, Chica Chica Boom Boom (I kid you not), advertises lap dances. A Russian lady the night before invited me there while I was walking home and I returned the next day to check it out (thinking with the wrong head). She said it was only 25 euros for a drink and a show.
Well, that's not exactly right. It was 25 euros on the menu, but they charged me 30 and her glass of champagne was 35 (and I hadn't even sat down yet) when I received the bill later. I knew it was going to be a rip off but I just was curious to see where things could go. The guy said if I buy her a drink, she would do a strip dance for me. I ordered drinks for both us and she put my hand on her thigh. We exchanged names and countries and then she said we should go back to my hotel. I didn't respond, perhaps because I was busy prying her breasts out of her bra or massaging her ass. I asked how much finally and she said 400 euros!!! But she also mentioned that I could pay by credit card. Now I understood how these bars work. It's similar to Thailand, but...no stripping, expensive drinks, and the fee to the bar is outrageous! I sat in stunned silence. She then said she could strip her dress for 20 euros (wasn't that suppose to be included before?). I agreed just to get something out of this and she unzipped her dress (but didn't remove it) and lowered her bra (but didn't remove it). Admittedly, she had one outstanding body but the touching and 'lap dancing' (basically just sitting on my lap for 3 seconds) were so short in duration, it was nothing like the lap dances I have received in America. After she downed her 'champagne', the bouncer/pimp came over to see if she could have another drink (I think all of this had lasted only 15 minutes) and I decided to leave. I think the padded the bill but I couldn't remember clearly and I didn't want to argue with the Russian mafia. So 15 minutes of some groping and rubbing cost me 85 euros. Wheeee. Another tout took me to Carousel Bar was just more of the same so I quickly left. Any of the 'piano bars' on this street are populated by many East European women, some quite attractive but what a cover charge.
One reason why I went to this place in the first place was because I had a Thai oil massage in the afternoon, off of Via Emilia, just south of the entrance to Villa Borghese and it was a good veggie massage (50 + 10euro tip) but no extras were offered despite my insistence. As such I was looking for some action.
Well, if you are more desperate and richer than me, you now know where to go...
