Hole Master Obe, "Any chance you can make it?"
Solid agenda IMHO. Although usually in Thailand in April (Songkran; motorbike riding with cold running shower and powder), have too many commitments stateside this April.
Some survival tips brah........ and then we get no reports of burn out and having to settle on banging 90 year olds in wheel chair
-Street food can take you seriously down. Been there many times. If it doesn't kill ya recovery can be 4-5 days.
Get "flying rabbit" at any pharmacy; small green bottle with winged rabbit on label (see pic below). White menthol flavored liquid.
Have 3 or 4 bottles on hand ready to go as going to pharmacy with the frequent trots can be problematic.
Bush Gardens (Bar & Restaurant) upstairs from Thermae and to left..... Good food, A/C, beer, billiards (bar girls will play ya), nightly live music. Good punting rest stop to cool off, carb up and hydrate. Centrally located on Sukhumvit and surprisingly off the beaten path even though its right in the middle of it.
-Currency Exchange
Stratford exchange right of Bush Gardens (same level) has best exchange rate I've found in BKK.
No more wasted time hunting around in 90+ heat and getting fucked on rate.
Enter Thermae from Ruamchitt hotel (same level and between Bush Gardens and Stratford exchange) to avoid what can be a huge gauntlet of katoeys out front of Thermae and on the stairs down. Go in hotel, through lobby to back and find stairs down into Thermae.
There is also a huge pool hall back there if you're into crackin balls.
mom out
