In the past, getting to RA10 was as easy as just registering a user name with your email, there was never a vetting process involved, RA10 was used not as security protection, it was used to get people to sign up as members to create a sence of belonging in the forum. Thats why people who've made reports or comments that could bring problems to themselves or others were asked to put a higher RA on their posts by mods
The way i looked at it … opening up the forum will certainly increase page views - not 2 figure % increase but 3 figure % increase over time. Opening up the forum would also bring clowns and idiots posting here, maybe even hackers as this English forum is a lot more internation then the Chinese forum.
Opening up the forum will bring more people here from search engines so we should expect to see more posts with ads, links to other sites by people who makes money doing this kind of thing.
Opening up the forum will mean a lot more work for the mods if we want to preserve the way of life we've been used to | |

The initial reason for RA10 isn't the point. It blocked google searches. |
