I read what Kaka said and my first thought is, yep, that happens. His statement that it applies to "most" reports is an overstatement, but it is an overstatement in reference to overstatements, that's ironic.
In reading forum history, there was at one point a massive subversion of the rating system to gain Ks if my reading comprehension is correct. I've seen zero evidence of it recently, but it did occur.
As far as validity of reports, if you've read any P4P forums at all you can easily have a discerning eye for bullshit reports and posters. We have had some here and they were all tagged rather quickly as farce.
My gold standard for report authenticity is very easy. Can I replicate the experience of the reporting punter myself? An excellent example of this is the many reports written by TD, Wander, TonyToro, and others about bar and club punting in HK and Wan Chai specifically. I, even as a rank noob in Wan Chai went out on my first opportunity and bedded what to this day is still one of the three hottest, sexiest, most passionate women I've ever been with in my punt filled life. That my friend is empirical quantitative data validation. No need to retest the theorem or contact the initial source for further clarification. What they said, worked, I followed their handbook and I got laid like an old carpet. Perfect.
So,Kaka, I'm not offended. I also utilize my own variable sized bullshit filter in the punting forum multi-verse. I am confident in my personal reporting, I enjoy writing. In most cases, I more often than not truncate my reports to just highlights.
