i can relate with the op and there are several reasons on why we find outcall services appealing:
1. sense of security (notice why i didn't leave it at 'security?'). when in a foreign country, we are not familiar with the custom, formalities, culture, legalities and such; dial-a-hooker seems like the best bet to get laid in the comfort of your hotel room.
2. convenience. at the end of a long, exhausting (business) day, one can't be bothered about anything. if we hungry, we order room service. if we need laundry done, we have the laundry collected and delivered. if we horny and just want a quick nightcap, we use outcall services. its as simple as that.
3. we all fear the unknown. most of the times, we travel solo and most likely, not knowing anybody for any safe recommendations. and venturing solo to unfamiliar territories seems too much of a risk for a quick thrill. at the end of the day, nobody wants to be taken advantage of, and if it did occur, it happened in the discretion and 'safety' of our hotel room.
4. anonymity. above all convenience, we have another layer of 'security' to be able to hide behind. all be it that its a 'blanket' security - we rather this than to be accidentally recognized, identified or caught seen in places where we shouldn't be. i'm certain that many, if not all bros in this hobby shares the same fear, and if we could, wouldn't we all choose to use this advantage if it was available to us?
in recent years, i've had the privileged and have traveled to hk many times. overtime, i've been able to overcome my insecurities and have been able tried most of what hk has to offer (from sw to walk-ups, from amp to saunas, from brothels to hg). but i can understand the challenges first timers to hk face, i too was a noobie not too long ago.
