It's really quite simple, they just need to get an SSL certificate for their server.

You'll notice when you're on a site that has HTTPS like google you will see a lock to the left of the URL bar, you can click the lock to see more information.

I do mean a network like your Home Wi-Fi or Work Wi-Fi basically a local network. Make sure that your WiFi is protected by WPA2 and not WEP as WEP is old outdated and well just shit.
