Regardless of the realities of the situation, trimming or shaving down there seems to help give the impression that you pay attention to cleanliness, which is something most WG like.
However, when I've asked WG whether they prefer shaven, trimmed, or wild, there doesn't seem to be any consensus. If you ask them whether they prefer a guy who seems clean, the answer is unanimous that they do. I have had a couple girls say they like the smell of a sweaty workout, but only in their real BF, not in their clients.
I get the impression that while it is still quite unusual to arrive with trimmed/shaven nether regions, it's more common than it used to be.
