I had many hilarious discussions in the early 80s with friends who recently came to the States from VN. Their confusion over our use of the Queen's English only added to the difficulties of becoming melded into the American way of doing things:
"Yes I don't."
"No I do."
They were too polite to state it, but I know they were thinking, WTF ?? | |
