I think the best hotels in Seoul are either The Shilla or the Grand Hyatt. Both are north of the river (Gang-buk) and it will take you some time to get to the action packed Gangnam (river south area). Subway wise only the Shilla has an ok connection, otherwise I suggest to take a taxi. The Intercontinental at COEX will probably serve you best from a business perspective. Reputable and close to what you are really looking for. Keep in mind that Gangnam is not 100% foreigner friendly expecially for the more Korean type services (search officetel).
For WC pick-up bars better check out Itaewon district. This is basiscally the foreigner district but services are sometimes not up to the local standard. Then The Grand Hyatt is ideal. The Shilla is on the other side of the mountain but a taxi ride through the tunnel will bring you there in 5min. | |
