---- Square Brackets - Why they're useful ----
When travelling to new countries this site is very useful for finding information. There is a lot of info on the site to wade through but bro's who took the time to use square brackets make it easy.
For example, click on Search, then enter [Philippines] into the keywords section. Go ahead and try. If you just enter Philippines without the square brackets you would have a lot more results, but that may include reports that just reference the Philippines. Try [New York], or [Pattaya]
CunningLinguist made a great introduction to this technique which is referenced in the sticky above.
One thing that breaks the system is combining - for example [Philippines, Manila] would not be returned by that search. If I just used one bracket in the search [Philippines they would be included, but of course [Manila, Philippines] would not. Also [NYC] would be skipped in a search for [New York]. Best just follow the convention [Country] [City]. Note we usually don't index districts like provinces, prefectures or states although some people add cities in large metropolis, such as [USA] [New York] [Manhatten].
For more info please see the sticky above which contains a link to How to Correctly Format your Subject Line with Brackets
edit: typos, remove broken link
