I've always wondered if it's possible to do the Wanchai bar scene as an expat resident and not get recognized by acquaintances. Since you just mentioned it and since Wander is already on the thread… How risky is it in that sense? If you stick to the punting bars, do you just resign yourself to the fact that you'll run into guys (but not gals) you know from time to time (how frequently?) and assume that word won't get back to the SO, or can you go for months on end and never see anyone you know? Anyone have any observations? I know it will depend on how many people you know, but if you've been living and working here for a while you're bound to know a bunch of people at least casually. The fact that you're all there for the same reason is less comforting if they're single and you're not. | |
