The only thing that matters is what a lie costs
I will answer that question assuming I am that man.
If my wife were cheating on me, I wouldn't want to know unless she is thinking of dumping me/killing me. As long as she is loyal to me, makes me happy, and is devoted to my kids, I don't care what she does in her free time.
And no, I am not married but I have been in a relationship and have never cheated on my partner. That said, I do realize we live in an imperfect world where people make mistakes.
None of this would help you of course but it should put into perspective what I would now say.
Ultimately you need to ask yourself:
1. What is the cost of telling the truth? What can go wrong if you tell the truth?
2. What do you lose if you lie (by omission)? | |
