Bro, as far as I see it, the sufferings you are going through is kinda expected coming from a woman who (I think) really loved (and I think still loves) you. The more she love you, the more she would make you suffer as she felt betrayed. No doubt some women may react in different ways, but unfortunately some women reacts just how your SO did.
My SO gave me hell (I have been there and back, not once, trust me...) but at least she still loved me enough to give me yet another chance and I am lucky that she reacted this way. Even though I fucked around, in the end my SO is the one that I really love and wanted to grow old with. The last time she caught me was an ex-gf of mine and that just made it the worst you can think of. But luckily, she relented and gave me one last shot at being the husband she expected me to be (all women expected a husband would be).
The anger she felt comes from the betrayal that she think you did to her. And I would say almost all women can't stand the thought of being betrayed and cheated upon. It's worse that killing them.
You probably have to evaluate deeper into the matter and decide whether she is in fact the one for you because if you think she is (like I do with my SO), then you can go through this hell. Otherwise, you may just regret trying to wade through this after a few month...if not years.
