Usually on nice sunny days, the journey is pretty ok and in fact the TurboJets are cool because they lift the ferry above the water making it a smoother journey (see pic) so probably a better option for you than the slower ferries!
But if it's raining or stormy weather, then it can get pretty bumpy and you can really feel quite ill.
