I heard the real good looking girls in Shanghai are not from Shanghai. They are country-girls who just moved to Shanghai because that is where the money is. I surmise these so-called country girls themselves become snobbish ("sophisticated") and materialistic to protect themselves from being criticized by the so-called native-born Shanghainese.
In LKF, every time I ask a PRC girl who is hanging out in the bars/clubs where they come from, 95% would answer 'Shanghai' with breathy confidence because they think HK locals would respect them more. They never say China. So snobby of them.  | |
