I met two ladies that were from Shanghai living in the USA. The way they always dressed with all their makeup and jewelery. They look down on the poorer local Chinese. Always saying bad things about the poorer locals.
One time I was in a Chinese restaurant in Las Vegas, this lady started complaining and wanted service. Yelling in Mandarin when most of the workers only spoke Cantonese. She also Complained why they can't speak Mandarin. Later I found out from a waiter she just came over from Shanghai.
I had four to five working girls that claimed there were from Shanghai. All four were tall and extremely pretty.
It just that Shanghainese ladies have a reputation of being materialistic, snobbish and demanding to their husband. | |
