Been off this thread for awhile. Here are a few random comments.....
I have also notice a steep decline in the volume of mainland China threads. Is the slowdown in reports related to CNY and will things come back to life in a few weeks? I hope so.
On the topic of the rules changes, I think they pretty much suck too, but they are what they are. Life goes on.
Phones.....I have the original Google phone, the Nexus One. Actually two, cuz I liked mine so much I bought one for my SO. These phones are made by HTC and though I don't think I have seen any other Nexus One's I have seen many of the HTC branded version around. I bought both of mine in the US and they work fine here. I get system updates regularly. The only downside I can think of is that some apps don't get or have trouble getting updates.
I have a friend who also had a Nexus One and he just bought the newer Nexus S made by Samsung. He says it has a slightly bigger screen, but no trackball (for those who care. I don't use it). He was having some other minor issues, but attributes them to just not being familiar enough with the phone. I love my Nexus One and though I'm really into new gadgets I have no motivation to buy a new phone.
Oh, and I also have an old iPhone 3. It just collects dust. I really like the look and feel of the Android OS much better.
I'm pretty sure my friend bought his Nexus S in China. If not, and if I was in the market for a new Android phone, I would not hesitate to go with an HTC model. | |
