Places in CP were RAIDED before, like sauna's BBS's and KTV's. It usually gets RAIDED before a major event or CNY.  There was once a rumor a girl was murdered, they closed most of the establishment but it was also just before CNY. Agreed, the authorities knows it brings in money.  If they really clamped down, CP will be a ghost town overnight. People think CNY is bad for girls, it could be worst if the authorities stepped in hard.
