I would just like to add my bit if I may, and hope not to be shot down in flames.
I have been registered for a couple of years now, and initially browsed this forum to seek out possible talent when I travel to Hong Kong. I haven't posted many reports for my sins, but have browsed on and off over the years.
Only recently have I tried to get into the forum more fully and participate in discussions, and on the whole have enjoyed the banter. Some take it very seriously others less so, I fall somewhere in the middle, where I have an opinion, but just really want to enjoy this great forum and insights of bros who I share an interest with.
I can see varying sides to the arguments here, and do not think there will be any compromise that would suit all parties.
I personally have never asked a WG if I can take photos, partly because I find it awkward to ask, not that I would not like the memento. But if I did, I would now be undecided whether or not I should post them.
I agree that if a girl absolutely did not want them posting it would be wrong to post them. And I would certainly not want to cause any form of distress to any WG.
But in fairness, the fact that we do monger, and quite often have SOs, and these girls choose to earn a living in the way they do (whether out of need or choice), suggests we have in most peoples eyes questionable morals. I would think it not unreasonable for anyone to assume that some bros are likely to publish.
Ideally if a girl wishes to preserve her integrity she should just say no photo, as would I if I were asked, due to fears they would fall into the wrong hands.
It is sad to see seniors bashing the shit out of each other, over what could quite easily be construed as an innocent mistake. I'm not sure how anyone proves or disprove that they had permission to post photos taken?
A bro may have been asked specifically not to post by a WG, on the other hand maybe once the WG found out, by whatever means, she may be too embarrassed to admit she gave the OK. Who would know for sure.
I know in my years I have been accused of things that are untrue, I also know I have had to cover up things that are.
The thing I do like on the whole about the forum is that it seems the majority, our mongering interests aside, are pretty OK guys.
On a side note, not picking sides, I love the mongers lounge section, and Idle chats, as it give guys like me, who are not located in HK, or somewhere similar, where mongering is an easy hobby to pursue. A place to get at least a little involved. | |
