I definitely see your POV and choice, and I also very much subscribe to the idea of "getting to know" your gal first and not just be Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Mam'ing.
But I'd opine that for a number of us and during different times/requirements, its the very quick and "impersonal" nature of WG's/HG's that is attractive.
Sometimes all we want is just an uncomplicated release without all the bells and jingles...and drama of a "relationship" type paid sex experience.
Different strokes for different folks....and for different times too!
