Anyway, The comment field accompanying your rating will only show up in public to I think 65 or 70 (NOT 40 only) characters; but you can write as much as you want as a Private message to the OP who you've rated, and he will get the complete message (but of course only with the first 65-70 characters showing up publicly)

If you want to let others see everything (publicly) that you write (beyond 65-70 characters), then you should just put up a reply post.

65-70 characters is usually enough to write "one-liners" - something which used to be endemic AND generally detested - and this increase in the # of characters to now being 65-70 (i/o the previous 40) have largely eliminated these one-liners.
