Its not so much the muscle to protect them. But more for all the admin work that goes along behind the scenes.
Unlike 141 walkups, most HG's are only in HK for 7 days at a time. But there is so much that needs to be done to setup, that an agent is absolutely useful otherwise they would be spending all the time trying to setup only to find their visa is up and its time to leave already.
Taking DB photos, setting up the ads, promoting the girls (albeit sometimes with fake reports), arranging hotels, setting up phone lines for punters to call and for the girls for communication, arranging a schedule for punters to minimise wait time/maximise flow. In HK, muscle is low down on the priority scale if at all.
Yes, the agents take a piece of the pie, and I admit that with HK HG's, I think that it is quite alot especially compared to Macau HG's. But the agents make it easier for them to work in HK as the infrastructure is setup for them already.
I am very close to some of the HG's I've seen in the past still and I am sure that they aren't threatened into this business. They just need quick money for whatever reason, and this way works. | |
