Rather than start a thread I guess I'll just ask here.
I been debating a return trip to hk for awhile now and can't decide yet, this post is directed more towards solo oversea punters coming to hk beyond the first trip there.
Besides punting, what else do you guys do during your stay? I already did did the tourist site seeing bit the first time around. I know I can venture over to Macau which I would do but only for a few days within say a 8 nite stay.
How about dining? Eating solo would be weird? So do you guys just eat alot of take out? I mean I been on biz trips where I was solo but most of my days were already booked and eating at night was fine since Ihad to get up early for work... I love solo trips! HK is so easy to get around with the MTR system. Eating and shopping are the most fun for me. HK has a lot of good restos, from very reasonable eats, to michelin-starred places. And eating solo is not weird. its nice to see how life moves around you.
Guess I'm trying to figure out whether I really want to try a solo trip or not...i could always just save the cost of the trip and continue punting here but I just really enjoy hk...suxs to not have a punting pal to make such trips...
Also say if I do decide to go, my fav 2 places are GFS and D37, if you had a choice which place which you like to stay closer to? Accomendation...just in case you can't sleep and want to take like a minute stroll... ... like I said, moving around is easy in HK. stay in a hotel that has a MTR exit nearby ( a lot of hotels are built on top of MTR exits). i like staying at the Pacific Place hotels, walk to MTR is very fast, and its 1 stop to TST, Wanchai and Central, 2 stops to Sheung Wan and Causeway Bay. the Holiday Inn Golden Mile is fun too, given how that part of Nathan Road always has life, and the Hari's Bar inside where you can just sit and see lots of interesting stuff (assuming you're not there to punt!) |
