You've actually discovered that there has been a rule change that just happened within the last 24 hours!!! DaBest, one of our Mods has replied to my question and confirmed that the Mods have just changed the rule and that Nookie Newbies are now no longer allowed to rate!!

Sorry about that - and I do wonder why the rule change, but I suppose there must have been a good reason/justification for such! Probably one or another Newbie abusing such privilege.

Ah Yes, there IS a good reason. A pity actually, as it makes it just that bit harder for the Newbies to feel "at home and belonging" on this forum; but as you can see from Kaka's explanation on

there really is not much that could be done to avoid a bigger problem. Sorry Newbies - but of course you are not only free but I would encourage you to come up with constructive suggestions if you think you have another solution to this problem. Thanks!
yes, we did not want to remove this privilege for the newbies.
but..
as u know, we have increased the minimum char for ratings comments.
this resulted in spammer taking advantage by...

normal spammers we can handle,
but spamming on ratings, even we mods can't remove it.
so in order for the increased minimum characters to stay, and to keep away spammers, Admin has to disable NN's ratings permission.
