Rico 1-3-2011 11:26 Acceptance +1 Any more tips on using flash I was actually very surprised how easy the external flash was to use out of the box. Just attach it on and snap away, no setting necessary required as it's so smart with the automatic measurements and what not.
Two tips learned from reading that are applicable to taking photos of girls inside rooms:
- Set on Rear sync in your flash. In Canon models it's off by default. That way your flash fires at end of exposure instead of beginning, which will allow for the background get some colorful exposure instead of being black.
- Drag the shutter. Set shutter speed to slower, so more of background is exposed. Flash firing at end will freeze the person well enough. I've been trying now with 1/60 and that's been ok already. The book was suggesting less. | |
