Was at the plush Park Hyatt KTV at Chang ping - which is the old Xinde/Sunday disco on Swan Lake Road near the Mayflower and in front of the Li hao hotel.
Beautiful and lushly decorated place....with no business!!
Probably as they tried to price their girls minimum 3-6-10 i/o the regular 2-5-8 at most places - in linewith some of these KTV's trying to raise prices in CP. Another possible problem is that they are NOT part of a hotel with the captive clientelle - but it was quite empty with the second flloor rooms all not open (On a Saturday night of all things!!), only 4 cars in the huge parking lot when I arrived at 7 pm and only a dozen or so when I left a bit after midnight.
Also, I saw quite a few of the old denizens of the now defunct Sunday disco just partying at the main show room - not guys who're known to be big spenders on drinks!
Our bill wasn't that high either - with us 6 guys, 4 of us with 2 gals each - and it was circa RMB 2,000 as we got some of the "grand Opening Special Discounts"
So - here's my best wishes for their continued NO BUSINESS - until they come back down on their girl pricing...and let the special discounts remain!
