Hmm, from your statement I can assume you are under 40 yo.
Once a guy passes his 40 yo birthday, the guy's pickup / successful flirting rate improves a lot. You learn to not care whether what you say to the girl gets you action or not. You just say things just to enjoy some conversation. It is that calm (calmness is important), nonchalance attitude that seems to attract the younger girls. They think you are so mature and full of wisdom compared to the guys of their generation.
Secondly this being Asia, there is a lot of respect for those who are older plus it is expected for the men to spend their early working years establishing their careers before settling down with a spouse. So age gaps of 5-8 years are quite common and 10-20 years not unheard of.
Thirdly because so many fathers here work so hard at work and were not at home everyday, too many girls here didn't get enough fatherly attention. This was even worse in families that pampered the males over the females. So you have a situation where there are quite a number of girls who are looking for a substitute 'daddy' figure for a bf/hubby.
Fourthly, hopefully by time you have reached 40 yo, your own EQ and flirting skills will have become quite good that it is easy for you to meet girls of any age. There are no special skills, just practicing the ones you have been using you were a teenager until they become second nature.
I myself grew up overseas where hanging out or dating a girl more than 4-5 years younger was considered 'robbing the cradle' or creepy. But in HK, I have met many girls in their 20s, some were almost 2 decades younger than I am. Quite a number of them wanted to date me but I couldn't because I have a SO already. It was unsettling at first hanging/dating such young girls, but I became quite used to it after hearing this statement quite often, "Age is just a number between lovers".  | |
