Looking to Break My Macau Cherry

Having spent a good few months experiencing the HG scene in HK, I think it's now time to broaden my horizons and hit up Macau. Having read the guides, reports, etc., it does seem like a monger's paradise and I'm very much looking forward to it.
I have my eyes set on saunas and KTV's, but more on that later. I did my homework and searched through the forum for all the guides and reports and read through many of them, but am still left with many questions, hence the reason for this thread. The problems I encountered and while researching Macau and my reasons for posting this thread are as follows, :
- The guides (e.g. the excellent one provided by bro Chickenchoppa), while very informative and useful, are somewhat outdated. I think the chances are high that the various info provided, e.g. the pricing, etc. are outdated.
- Reports, while plentiful, informative, and appreciated, do not provide a consolidated picture of what's on offer in Macau. For example, bro Geoduck recently posted a thread about how the Rio has gone downhill lately. bro Jckjnr replied and said that it's not just the Rio, but East, 18, and D1, etc. have all gone downhill. I've also seen some reports with opinions contrary to that. I realize that this may be subjective and different bros may have different preferences and opinions, but is there a general consensus about which saunas/KTV's are consistently top ranked?
- While reports might be more useful for bros who've punted in Macau before and are just looking for the latest scoop, I've never punted in Macau before
- I realize that there are a good number of threads on Macau already, but I have some questions that are quite specific and I don't wish to hijack another thread
So here are the questions that I have:
- From what I've been able to gather from the reports, so far, I have on my list the following saunas: D1, East, Sanado, and 18. Are these establishments worth visiting and consistently good as of now? How do they compare to each other? Looks is most important to me, very closely followed by service. I'm not too concerned about the range of girls on offer. Would any bros be able to make a recommendation based on my preferences?
- How do the quality of girls at both saunas and KTV's compare to HK HG's in terms of looks? Have seen some real pics of girls in Macau reports but not nearly as many as in HK HG reports, so I don't feel like I can make an informed judgment on this
- For saunas, is it advisable for a newbie to make a first visit on his own? I'm really a closet punter: I punt solo in HK, and I don't have any punting buddies except for one and he lives in New York and only comes back to HK to visit once a year. Besides, he has a GF now and although I can probably make him go punting with me with enough persuasion, I'd feel like an asshole in doing so. Currently I have no punting buddies in HK since most of them have SO's or are just not into this kind of thing
- From my understanding from reading the various guides and reports, at saunas, you pay a fixed fee for usage of the facilities, and then you pay an extra fee for the girl, and this fee varies depending on the quality of the girl. Am I right? Please correct me if I'm wrong
- Have seen some comments by bros who claim that Macau isn't what it used to be and that China's a much better place for punting overall (i.e. in terms of pricing, quality of girls, skill/service on offer, etc.). Is that so? Would bros more knowledgeable about Macau say that it's still worth visiting? Or would my time and money be better spent in China?
- The Macau 141 site (http://mo.nightlife141.com/en/) has some info on various saunas, along with pics of the girls at each sauna advertised. Are these pics also photoshopped like the HK HG pics? How reliable and accurate are they?
- Although a lack of punting buddies would most likely rule out the possibility of a KTV visit, I'm interested as to how the girls at KTV's compare with sauna girls. From my understanding, sauna girls are better trained and typically more skilled, but KTV girls are often better looking and provide more of a GFE. In terms of looks, how would they compare? Or do you get equally good looking ones at both types of establishments?
Sorry if any bros find my questions too basic and fundamental, but please keep in mind that I've never punted in China and Macau before, so as much as I've tried getting as much info as I could from the guides and reports, it's still all a bit overwhelming. Thanks for bearing with me, and hope to get some answers from more knowledgeable bros.
