Also, there is the One Country, Two systems principal. The Chinese Govt in the past do not want too many mainlanders flooding HK as this would cause an imbalance of wealth and also 'corrupt' the PRC nationals. In Macau, there are lots of PRC working in hotels but by law, they are not allowed to work inside the casinos for fear they may be 'corrupted' in a territory that is part of the PRC. However, I have noticed that some hotels have mainland staff working as waiting staff at restaurants located inside the casino which is illegal. The law stipulates there must be a minimum distance that separate PRC nationals in relation to gaming tables in the workplace.

In places such as Malaysia and Singapore, PRC staff are allowed to work as dealers at the gaming tables.
