I have Hepatitis B and my parents and their parents are part of that 10% of Hong Kongers with it.  I was born with it but my body developed antibodies and I've never had any issues.  The only things I shouldn't do are drink too much alcohol (putting strain on the liver) and donate blood.  This isn't to say that everyone with Hep B would be as fortunate as I am, but it's also not this sort of super scary disease like some people think.  Anyways, there are drugs and pills (they're expensive so make sure you have a health and drug benefits plan that covers it) that help keep your Hep B levels in check if it becomes a problem.
