I thought the reason for placing some money on the table or on the dresser instead handed directly into the wg's hands is a legal defense action if the wg turned out to be an undercover cop or cops raided the place. Apparently it is counted as payment for prostitution if money is handed directly from punter's hands to the wg's hands.
Can anyone clarify this? There's no statute (that I've ever heard of) saying that from hand to hand is prostitution payment. If shit hits the fan (police bust), then it's all about how strong the evidence is against you. If you only put the money on the dresser, then if it goes to trial, you could claim it was just your money that you were keeping there, or that it was payment for the room, or whatever other excuse. If you're on video/audio handing over the cash to the prostitute, it becomes that much harder (but not impossible) to reasonably claim to the judge that you had no idea that she's a prostitute.
Of course, this post is not any sort of professional advice! |
