What is most interesting about those marriages that fail because wifey leaves hubby once she moves to his home country or gets citizenship is that more often than not, these guys do not treat dating these Asian girls to the same standards they would to dating girls at their home countries. It is an universal concern of guys everywhere to find a potential wife who is not materialistic or gold-digger, is not a nag, respects him, loves him sincerely, is down-to-earth, is great in bed, etc.
If these guys took the time (at least a few years) to date these girls in her home country, they would eventually find out if she is the right girl or not and save themselves any potential hassles. If they wait until after quickie marriage and she is over at his country to figure her out, then he is basically gambling with his time and money. These guys really think they are 'God's gift to women' and that these girls will stick with them always and give them awesome sex 24/7.
Of course you can say, these guys don't have time to come over to Asia to work and live so they can find an Asian wife. But if they don't spend the time in her home country to understand her friends, family, extended family, and culture, then he will have to bear the high risk. If he really wants an Asian wife, I would suggest he go looking for those who are available already in his country so he can properly spend the time dating her.
Here in HK, alot of my friends and I have SO who want us to stay in HK forever if we can. In fact one way for us to screen out the gold-diggers/passport hunters from the crowd of single women is to tell them that we are willing to stay in HK forever and live together in a small 600-700 sq ft flat in a middle-class district and not buy a car.
Also to let you know, because of the culture here to 'give face and keep face', ppl here are really good at hiding their true feelings until they can trust you. One really has to date an Asian girl at least a year before she is comfortable enough to drop her 'public face' in front of you so you can get to really know her. Time-consuming I know, but worth it.
