I would guess this beating must come form a minority haters. Every country has its arseholes. But to be honest, it's not from the limited trips I've made there that I can get an accurate view of their situation.
When I said they were "lucky Thai society is not hostile towards them", I compare the situation of Thai transvestite to the situation of their counterparts in other countries. I'm sure if it was as hard to be transvestite in Thailand as in most of other countries, they wouldn't be so many ladyboys in Thailand. Off course, their number would be less impressive if they were not somany gays among them, who dress up like girls just to get farang customers. But I still think their more tolerated in Thailand and that's why they show at an early stage that they feel like girls instead of boys.
Indeed, last time I saw on french tv one report were you could see a bunch of young ladyboys in a secondary school. They had their own lavatory, they were alowed to wear make up at school. They said they get along well with other boys and girls and nobody annoy them. This would be impossible in France, revealing their inner identity could endanger their life in the bullish society I live.
It was said (in the report) that Thai officials are discussing the possibility to open a prison exclusively for transgender inmates. IMHO, that shows Thais care more about their transgenders than many other societies.
The ladyboy show "Miss Tiffany Universe" is very popular in Thailand. I don't think this kind of show could be as popular in many countries.
Ho, bytheway, anyone who thinks the girl, in the picture below, is sexy might end up fucking a ladyboy
