Thanks for your advice about the spending.
I have partied all over TST, LKF, and Wanchai over the years. I am willing to spend but in a careful manner. I have in the past just refused to pay for some drinks, door fees, taxi fees, shopping, etc if I feel they are gaming me. Pissed off many girls at that moment of refusal, but ironically got respect from those girls as someone who cannot be shamed or embarrassed into paying for something that is beyond the norms of ordinary friendship.
As you know, ppl in Asia hate losing face. Some girls take advantage of that. Try to force a situation whereby the guy would look 'cheap' if he didnt buy the drinks, pay for the club entrance fees, pay for their taxi ride (but I am not going with them), etc. But really what is worse - looking
'cheap' for not buying some bitch's drink (usually chooses the most expensive in the menu) or looking like a 'poor sucker' for buying a drink for a bitch who doesn't say thanks and walks away with drink in hand?
Let me tell you, I don't want to be known as tht 'poor sucker' as it seems the girls in bar/club seem to tell each other who is the poor sucker and go right away to get a drink.
So compared to what I have seen in those places, taking some strange girls for coffee and a possibly a meal to have a nice,relaxing conversation is not such a big deal to me.
PS: I myself experienced alot and heard many stories from buds about the gaming of goodies from girls here. Don't get me wrong, I am not the type who has to have an endgame/plan/goal before spending a cent, I am more of the type who just wants to be in the company of nice people to enjoy relaxing conversations. | |
