I've got nothing against reasonable enforcement of the posting guidelines against one-line, non-contributory posts.  However that enforcement should be applied reasonably equally.

Right now, the biggest single violator of the posting guidelines is actually SEAJ.  If SEAJ was negged for all his "Thank you" posts and "Good Advise" replies he'd be in deeper neg territory than a Newbie.  And if we penalized him for his serial posting it would be even worse.  The guy's been warned for months by persons more senior and knowledgeable than me against continuing his practice of replying to his own posts over and over.  He's gotten far more leeway than any Newbie in this regard.

Just call me an opponent of hypocrisy.  I've always been very reluctant to neg anyone, but if we were to apply King SEAJ's rule fairly, the poster who would receive the most penalties would be SEAJ himself.
