You hit the nail on the head! I've seen too many forums degenerate into slinging matches between opposing people and/or factions that get so far off topic they are just irrelevant! Of course, when that happens people leave the forum and it dies a quick death.
Karma is a great tool to keep the posting relevant and "above the belt".
The only negative is that the mods have to fight a constant battle against the one-line responses from newbies trying to boost their karma. Well - you can't have it all.
I applaud the new system - if anything I will be more inclined to post photos because I know I am sharing them with active members of the community, not 15yo boys surfing for porn and I can feel better about myself because the WG's friends/family are not likely to come across the pics by accident! | |
