I have to laugh when I hear HKers talk about how dangerous Mongkok is. Seeing some guy with a scar and a tattoo is considered a walk on the wild side over here. Asians have a much lower threshold for what's considered dangerous. The kind of incident that makes the front page in HK wouldn't even be deemed newsworthy back in the States. We require serious body count, preferably involving automatic weapons, before the media even begins to pay attention. Three decades in Asia and I've never been anywhere where I felt uncomfortable or threatened. | |
