Bars in Wan Chai

So when I first got to HK not long ago I tried my first WG from a bar in Wan Chai. I didn't haglle with price cause hey it was my first and I didn't wan tto insult the girl sitting next to me. Anyways I got taken for over 1900 hk for 1 hour. What should I have paid. The price included the room.

wow - you really got ripped off

Depending on bar, time, nationality etc, you should be able to get between 500-1000 for 1 hour.  no more than 1000

1900 would get you a number for all night, although those can go above 2000

I think as long as you think the experience was worth the 1900, then it should be fine ! although you can always find a better price around the corner, no need to regret and ruin the experience thinking you got ripped. Just like when I buy some expensive electronics in Wan Chai Computer Center, I don't have the energy to check every shop for the lowest price, so if the price is acceptable for me, I go and take the plunge, and I don't look back!

If it was his first WG in HK then he might feel that it was worth the money but after more experience in mongering in HK, he'll realise that he could have got alot more for $1900
