So our man DABest figures a thread, while actively being discussed, is (in his opinion) "going no where" and deserves to be closed.

I was surprised by that, but maybe I just don't know the rules around here.  The thread in question was, after all, in Monger's Lounge which is more of a place for all of us to kick back and shoot the shit, or so I thought.

So bitch slap me if I'm being uppity, but shouldn't we let threads run for as long as folks are contributing?  Don't we want posters contributing?  I totally understand that the on point sections (reviews) should be precisely that: on point, but isn't Monger's Lounge about a more rambling conversation?

thank you for your concern... there are thread topics that follow the law of diminishing returns, and as posts stray farther and farther from the original post, then the value of the replies diminish. in this particular case, there is obviously no answer, so the thread can literally go a hundred pages. as one bro pointed out, its just common sense.

you're here to share info, and we're here to moderate to make sure bros dont need to wade through too much stuff to get the info they need.

We are punters...of course we can refused service based on looks...when we go see walk-ups or HGs or pick a girl out of a line up in a sauna we pick based on looks....

Waahh.... so many members in here and i never realize there's someone who specialize in this thing. now i got it.
he has so many topics to discuss.

does he live in HK or China? Coz if he lives in HK or China, i think it's easy for him to get so many Karmas.
just bang 1 girl, write a report (he's very good in doing this), attach some real pics,
and he will get at least 30 - 100 Karmas. no need to write too long, think too much to get Karmas.
coz I saw some members get RA 30 easily (probably less than 1 month) by posting some reports.

It means to get 1000 Karmas, He probably needs to write only 10 very good reports, with very attractive pictures in each report.
It will cost him $700 x 10 = HKD 7000 (without tips). less than USD 1000.

Assuming that each report needs 30 minutes to write, it means he only needs 300 minutes or equal to 5 hours to get the title.
that's very efficient and effective. dont waste too much time and money (coz time is money) compare it to me.
i already spent 158 hours (this month 36.5 hours) and only get 465 karmas.

And when he was on his "once or twice in a lifetime Asia tour" he write just about anything and everything - but of course nothing compared to the amount of nonsense threads he puts up.

When he's not putting up nonsense threads, he's trying to "engage" somebody here with his equally nonsense obvious questions, light-weight comments and blithe remarks. All skilfully made up to look like its not a nonsense one-liner.

And when all that doesn't work to get him enough posting credits, he resorts to attacking one or another one of us - just so that he can get into a spam war and accumulate more posting credits.

Looking at that list of titles for posts made me go back and check if mine were as random/nonsensical, heh heh. It's definitely... err.. interesting to see all those compiled in a list!

To be fair though, while random and somewhat inane, a good amount of those posts were polls or veggie cafe ones, non-K generating of course...

but back to the original title/subject of THIS post (which from the title and OP, I'm guessing is to whether the mod was right in closing the previous thread)...

Fully agree with what DaBestHK wrote. The original poster asked a pretty closed-end question (simply put, can WG's refuse service). 25 posts all essentially saying the same thing (yes, of course they can refuse service).

Ahhh....yes the veggie cafe and our master spammer; he did mention in his "application to be a moderator" here that he is a moderator on another site - and thus he does know all the tricks of the game.

You see, there was NO veggie cafe prior to just a few months back - and except for the Jokes and AV section (+ some others?) the rest of the sections including where his topics were posted at, all were posting credit accumulating. But he had already got all his posting credits from those threads that's now been moved to the veggie cafe.

And if you notice, his more recent posts had basically been posted on such posting credit sections such as rest of the world, feed back/suggestions and of course the monger's lounge - which is where this here thread still resides at!! He has had hardly any posts in the Veggie cafe section at all for the past few months/since mid 2010/late 2009.

And talking about reside- Silverbird - I was thinking that his address "Podunk U.S.A." could easily be anywhere, even from some hovel in HCMC where he'd posted up a few reports on - for all I care! Why did you ask? Does it make any difference?
