I'd say your chances of securing an appointment by sms alone is quite unlikely. some of the agents seem to divert the listed numbers to a separate line, so they might not even get your sms. better to just call.

Sorry but most of the times you even have to call with CALL ID on, otherwise nobody picks up.
And they might want your number in any case so they can call you back when you are in the neighbourhood, they will usualy not give you the full address by phone.

But relax, they are happy when you call them as it is their business to deal with customers.

What about obtaining a SIM card? I always take my cell to PI with and can purchase a SIM from 7-11 for about $1 and there's no paperwork. Is it a hassle in HK to buy a SIM and load for your phone?

it is easy to buy a SIM card in HK. you can get in from 7-11 to some phone shops. I don't think you can get it by only $1 though.

super easy. from the convenience stores, you can get one for HKD 68 (less than USD 10), that already comes with HKD 68 of prepaid load. if you go to the telecom supplier store, you might be able to get one for even lower, like HKD 38 (People's, now PCCW)
