37D late night transportation back to HK island

Hi,

I've had a couple rough nights after 37d where I wound up going there after the MTR had stopped running and had a hard time finding a cab that would take me over to the Hong Kong side.  Anybody have any tips on how to get over at like 2am?  I'm assuming the only way to do it really is a taxi but if there are other ways, please let me know.  I'm tired of wandering the streets and asking random cab guys if they go over to the Hong Kong side while I'm half in the bag.  Thanks.

dunno where u wanna go in HK but Kowloon Motor Bus has two overnight routes: the N122 and the N171. search their interactive map:
http://www.kmb.hk/en/services/search.html

there are taxi stands that specialize in cross-harbor runs. i don't know where in Mongkok but i'd bet the people at Langham Place (which has a large hotel along with its dense-pack of shops and other noise) will know. stop by earlier and get the location if you don't want to deal with the buses.

Take a Red Van. Walk to the main Nathan Road, direction towards Hong Kong Island.
You will see Red van stops or just stand anywhere and grab the red van cruising by (heading to Kennedy Town/Sai Wan).

After the cross harbour West tunnel, You can get off  and take a taxi to your HK island's final destn.

I take red Van all the time after my visits to MK brothels pass wee hour.

There is another route of Red Van to Causewaybay, but I am too sure where is the bus stop from Mongkok.

There are N versions of daytime buses that cross over from around 11 to 4 or 5 in the morning before the  normal ones start.. They usually run longer intervals and cost around 15hkd for buses that cross the tunnel.

The N171 for instance goes from Sham Shui Po to Ap Lei Chau. The daytime 171 version goes from the Harbor Tunnel straight to the Aberdeen Tunnel but the N version goes through CWB and makes two or three stops before going through to Aberdeen. You can take it at Nathan road around the corner and across the street from 37d.  Lots of other buses have N versions as well  depending on where you live in HK side, you should be able to catch one that at least gets you across.
