For the bros that are willing to go out for a punt during these times (i.e. all restaurants closed), what have you been using as an excuse to leave the house if you live with a significant other?  The old standbys of going into the office, going to the gym, meeting a friend for a drink, etc. can no longer really be used.  The only one that would still work would be to run an errand but it would have to be something that takes a decent amount of time.  Doctor's appointment would also work but you can't use that one too much without getting a lot of questions, and you can only use that one during the day.  Exercise is tough because you probably have to be dressed in gym clothes, and you would be expected to come back drenched in sweat given the heat outside.  I haven't really come up with much else.

What else have you guys been using as a reason to be out of the house for a couple hours, particularly if you want to go out at night because you can't find the time during the day (work, etc)?

It’s an interesting post as I haven’t really thought about it (wife is out of town and I’m flying solo). Depending on your job, I would have thought emergency at the office works. I have friends who work in Finance who’ve been back to the office and used that for an excuse to spend 90mins outside . The common ones of course are t o a friends to play Xbox, or romance that with whatever you do to spend time with them (poker, drinking etc).

Whatever you do, make sure you don’t come back smelling of soap. This is an automatic giveaway and reason to doubt! The number of times I was caught as the soap smelled differently to what we use at home has been a killer to relationships and a start to a fight...

I used this when I was in Singapore a lot.  Fishing!!  Get the smallest combo (rod+reel) you can find and they cost next to nothing.  Easy to carry with a little bag and say you going fishing.  Most anglers don’t catch fish anyways so you don’t have to bring back your catch. You can go “fishing” now anytime you want but remember, hot summer day, go evening fishing.....cos you will not get a Tan Skin after an hour in Fuji Building

building on dryice about the soap...if you do end up going punt bring your own soap.  In this age of covid you can use the excuse when you get home of taking a shower since you were out and about and incase the place you went had somebody that might have had COVID or find the smelliest soap you can find and wash your hands like made when you get home to confuse her smell.  

or introduce a good friend of yours to your SO that she wouldn't suspect anything when you guys go hang out.  I got one friend that uses me as his "scapegoat" when he likes to see his side salad or whatevers cuz his wife sees me as the friend that is geeky and "normal" friend

A non-judgemental question from an unmarried guy in his early 20's: What is the benefit to getting married? Why get married but continue this hobby? I understand the physical need for it/getting bored with one person, but because of that, I don't understand why anyone would volunteer for marriage. Just seems like marriage is signing yourself up for prison. Any of you guys can shed some light?

Edit: In addition, do you care if your spouse does the same? I personally wouldn't mind cheating but I don't think I would handle it well if it happened to me.

The fishing idea is interesting, although I don't ever fish so it would really be out of the blue to try to use that one.  Where would you say you went to fish in HK?  On a boat or go to some sort of lake?

The fishing idea gave me another thought.  Are golf courses open?  Think you can get away with saying you showered at the golf course to eliminate the "different smelling soap" issue.

hulk I like that one! Tennis , golf , badminton all of them work. The best though would be honey I went swimming. I mean we all got shower after the pool! This is the kind of thread I love on this forum! We’re helping each other to find ways to perpetuate our hobby. It’s like back to the good old days of the forum. More than just another review!

For the problem of soap or the general scent of the WG hanging around, I always carry my deodorant with me and spray it after the shower from session. The deo is strong enough to overpower any soap scent that you may have. Plus, that is the same deo I use anyways so I don't smell any different when I go home after getting some.

Could you get your S.O. to sign up for one of those hip-hop dancing classes with a hot, young instructor?
