Chiang Mai Intel

So why is it that under Thailand forum there are so few reviews for Chiang Mai?  Is it because all the action is in Bangkok and Pattaya which seem to dominate the reviews and not as many visit CM? Or are they posting elsewhere?  Inquiring minds want to know.

My bad this is Monger talk. I got confuse and want to retake back my comment. I am so sorry about that Wongdailows. Sadly I can;t re-edit my rating.

Yes you are half right about Chiang Mai. There is a lot of action in Chiang Mai but Bangkok and Pattaya got even more. Another reason why there so little report on Chiang Mai is just simply because our senior member who actually live in Thailand and sent reports back are staying mostly in those two area. They aren't gonna go to Chiang Mai to have fun when they can already have fun at home without the traveling hassle from leaving their home.

I was in Chiang Mai in January, first trip in many years. It's Thailand's second-largest city and popular with tourists. The art scene is thriving, there's hip areas, great coffee everywhere, temples, etc. I enjoyed my trip and want to return soon.

The mongering scene for farang is far more limited than Bangkok or Pattaya. There's basically one strip--Loi Kroh Road, near the night bazaar/tourist area. You have small massage shops and beer bars. There's a couple of other massage places in town, including a nuru place in a now-closed hotel somewhere on a lonely road: Absolute Paradise. The manager is a friendly Burmese dude and the lineup of four--nuru in a clean smallish hotel room was 1600 plus 1000 for a BBBJ. She was cool and it was a fun erotic time.

Needless to say the Thai scene is far larger. There's an aggregator:

Plenty of massage clubs on the outskirts. The usual situation: expect little/no English and technicians who may be skittish around non-Thai clients.

More info welcomed.

Spot on by a pro.
I punted 1-2 times in Chiang Mai a long time ago. There used to be a fishbowl massage place under the parking deck of one of the large older hotels on the west side of Huay Kaew before you go up the mtn Doi Suthep. And a few other massage or soapie style places around the southern ring road, but they catered to Thais or Japanese/Korean golfers.
