I was watching the show ":To Catch a Predator" on youtube the otherday and want to know what other mongering bros think about guys that got caught.  To you guys who dont know what the show is about, its basically a set up where people pretending to be little girls chat on chatrooms and lure potential pedaphiles into their house where there are a million hidden cameras.  Once the pedaphile enters, he is confronted by the TV host where it is broadcasted on national TV.  Then the dude is arrested outside where their life is basically fu*cked.

I am not a pedaphile and really do think they are low life scums, but I truley believe many of these guys are not out there purposely looking for teenage girls but just happens to let their little bros got the best of them.  A few of the Indian guys that got caught looked like my classmates before and definitely do not fit your typical stereotypical child molestor image.

So bros, what do you guys think..do you feel sorry for them?  Do you think its entrapment?

I've seen the show you mention and I don't see how it is relevant to this forum??

Certainly sounds like entrapment to me but I don't really know what the legal definition is. Sounds like these
decoy gals go on-line to entice some poor sucker to visit them and then they get filmed for a TV show and
then arrested. The would-be paedophiles, NBC, the cops - they all sound as bad es each other.    

I can't say those paedophile suckers do not deserve it. But the way they were caught and displayed on prime time TV without a fair trial is questionable. This can only happen in the great U.S. of A. Is speaking dirty with an underaged a crime? Other than that these suckers did not do anything. Is this prosecutable? Do we have a lawyer in the house?

(My answer to the last question is: I doubt it. I have a lawyer friend who thinks that since he is a lawyer he is a godsend to all wgs and it is above him to have to pay. So he only "negotiates" for freebies. So I guess there shouldn't be any lawyers on 141 as the girls here don't give a damn if you are a lawyer or Donald Tsang.)

Pedophilia is abhorent and I have no sympathy for the guys.  This site, however has no relevance to the pedophilia you talk about.

Of course it's entrapment - but it's also great fun to see some scumbag loser reduced to a whimpering twit by a preaching and posturing reporter, all for your home-viewing entertainment. It's the modern version of a good old neighborhood tar and feathering - a poisonous mixture of profit motive, punishment, and schadenfreude. Instant Karma in the land of the self-righteous.

But what surprises me is how these morons always come clean in front of the camera about why they're there, pleading to the reporter with the camera rolling, "I know it's wrong, and I'm sorry sir, I promise I won't do it again."    If it were me, I would say that I was there to see some chick I met in a bar who had given me the address and invited me over, and that I know nothing about any young girl, and get that fucking camera out of my face! Until the guy walks into the house, no one had ever seen him before.

(Edit. And now that I think about it, I'm sure that the network lawyers see to it that the only episodes aired are those where the guy comes out and admits to being there for 12 yr-old Barbie. There must be guys who deny everything and never make prime time. I know that I could visit chat rooms without leaving any trace on my computer (only visit chat sites using a browser opened in a virtual machine isolated from your operating system - when you shut down the virtual computer, all traces of anything done while in that virtual machine vanish) and without my online activity being traceable to my home computer (connect to the internet via a web proxy in Kazakhstan). So if they aired everything, something like this could happen: you walk into the house, the cameras roll and the reporter accuses you of being a pervert, you deny everything, the police arrest you, the program is aired (and note that they never pixel out the perp's face), the police find no computer evidence against you and have to let you go, and you then sue the shit out of the network and move to Thailand, buy a Pattaya beach-front villa, and become president for life of the Gary Glitter Fan Club. )

I think the most incriminating evidence against the paedo would be the online chat record he had with the "13-year old". So if they can't positively link the chat to the paedo's computer because he's connecting via a proxy the police would not waste their time on him and lure him to the house in the first place. Just being in the house and talking dirty should not be a crime, or not serious enough to make it worthwhile for the police. Sorry Mars, you can forget about becoming the president of the GG Club. You are too smart to qualify. Unlike these paedos who just think with their dicks.

...I have seen every single one of them and am looking forward to new ones, although too many people know about it already so they may not do a new show.  My favorite one was the Rabbi.  There are also some guys who are absolutely UGLY and must have thought that they hit jackpot when they came over with beer, condoms and whip cream.  There were a few Asian guys, lots of married guys with children ( WHICH I DON'T UNDERSTAND ), but each and every one of them is hilarious when they get caught.  I remember when they first started, they actually let the guys go but after the first 2 episodes, they called in the police to arrest them afterwards.  But Chris Hanson is one brave motherfucker.  He is lucky he never got killed by one of those fools.  I love it when he pops out of the back when the guy expects the little girl or boy to come out in a bikini or naked.  The worst one was a family doctor, that is really sad because this dude lost his license.

The doc is one motherfucker I dont feel sorry about...I would like to see his own girls get molested by some old perv and see his reaction.  He is getting his long due trial as we speak..hope he get raped in jail.

I do feel sorry for the Korean dude who was so sweet to the girl when he arrive or the dude who walked in in clutches.  He must have not slept for a few night knowing he will get laid for the first time! But then again, after reading the transcript and if they even send emails like that to my daughter...I will castrate them with a butter knife

So it seems the way these bastards were entrapped will not hold up in court. One of the "victims" even killed himself while being arrested. This put an end to the show.

Boy, am I dumb. I really thought the trials had already been held and the guys foung guilty and sentenced BEFORE
the programmes were shown on TV. How could they show all that stuff onTV even before there's a trial? Unbelievable.

The guys who were arrested and now released should sue the ass off NBC and Chris whatshisfuckinname. I just wish one

I must admit some of these things are quite funny and become almost addictive viewing. The worst I've seen so
far is the guy who actually took his 4 or 5 tear old kid with him when he went into the house to meet the girl.
Unbelievable. Even Chris Hanson seemed shocked and just sent the guy back out without even interviewing him.

And I love the one with the Rabbi. But why no Catholic priests caught seeking young boys? Maybe they can get

I'm not a big fan of this freak show; I only caught a couple of episodes when last in the States, so I wasn't aware of the suicide and litigation issues, but knowing Americans and our love of guns and lawsuits, it was inevitable that this would happen. And good thing that it was taken off the air; whatever you think about pedophilia, this show was the worst example I've ever encountered of making entertainment out of other people's misfortune, which is just as fucked up as screwing children. (And no it doesn't surprise me that sexpert considers this his favorite show, now that his previous fave 'Vivesecting Furry Animals' has been canceled.) No one comes out of this unsullied, neither the network exploiting these assholes to turn a profit, nor the airhead voyeurs who take pleasure in watching these losers squirm. There's no lack of misery in this world, but eating our TV dinners to this spectacle says a lot about homo saps.

I'm surprised suicide guy didn't first try to take Hanson out - I know I would have.

By the way, did anyone catch Hanson's appearance on The Daily Show (now that's one of my favorite programs!)? John Stewart actually thanked the guy for all the good he was doing in the world! It was the only time I've ever seen Stewart on the wrong side of a moral issue.

Agree - it's kinda sick when pedophilia becomes the new hit reality TV show along with Big Brother, Dancing with the Minor Celebrities, and The Apprentice.

I have no sympathy for the pedophiles but am dismayed this has become something the networks can turn into entertainment and a quick buck.

In Australia, and elsewhere, the police do similar operations, portraying themselves on the net as underage to arrest hunters, and discourage pedophiles using the net for this purpose. They want pedophiles to know they do this but don't turn it into "entertainment".

are you sure that we are all anonymous in the internet.....?. As soon as some people with right knowledge & connection has your IP address you can be trace easily. Just by using a proxy will not protect your identity, it just bounce off your IP address to place in Kazakhstan, now the server in Kazakhstan will have list of all IP who connected to their proxy server, people can get the list of IP from them and if the kazakhstan doesnt buldge, they can hack into their server. why do they go all the trouble to find you? Yes if you involved in somekind of drug dealing or big criminal or pedophilia, if you're not that nobody will really care or spend so much time to trace u. Also it doesnt matter how many time you bounce it from Kazakhstan - Iraq - Iran finally your IP will still be discovered.

I can tell you to protect your identity it requires more advance and technical software engineering stuff and it's definetely not as easy as using Proxy.

Remember Proxy only hides your IP not erase your IP.
