Student looking for Room?

I'm just wondering if there were places you can rent in HK, not for any sexual related activities; but let's say, you need a board, since your a foriegn student?

I'm asking this since, I wanted to go back to HK and study there for a semester, since I would like to see how life in HK is...

Get a serviced apartment like from City Loft, StudioStudio, W Studio, Cozy, etc.  They can be as low as HK $7,500-$9,000 in Causeway and Central.  They advertise as around 300 square feet, but honestly the apartments aren't much more than a bed, bathroom and maybe a tiny kitchen.  A place to sleep and not much more.

My siblings get those when they stay in HK, but they're also had issues with dirtiness, sometimes lack of privacy (the leasing manager showing their room to potential renters when they're not home and sometimes even when they are) and some units even have bed bugs and/or cockroaches at times.

HK rentals are such a crock of shit! , they include shit like shelves, airconditioner space, the hall way outside the apartment even the door jambs, its getting worse too! , in that in the 80s realtors would use a 95% livable space figure, then it went down to 85% and it currently stands at 55% usable liveable space, its such a crock of shit!

I went house hunting last time in HK and a 550sq ft rental place was more like 270ft as they included even the window sills the fan shelf outside the aircon shelf and included an internal shelf mounted on the upper wall.

To the OP look up craig's list HK there are some box rooms for $3000 a month, pretty shit but pretty cheap in Mong Kok, fine for me since I only consider home as a place to sleep and spend all my time outside anyway. But it will probably be in an old building which is ideal as old builds are packed full of WGs.

Life is short very...

you need to contact the university really as many places in classifieds will be minimum of 6 months/12 months

serviced appartments are a costlier option but doable, depening on your budget

I wouldn't recommend it, but if you really wanted to stay somewhere cheap, you could do a long term stay at one of the hostels in chungking mansion.
