do the hotels really know

i made a comment on a post a while ago about whether the hotels know they are hosting working girls.  one answer is no way, the hotels are not involved.

can this really be true?  surely the through traffic of men going into the hotel and the noise made from the rooms would give it away.  especially if there is a normal person/couple in the room next door.  what about the amount of towels used and the rubbish in the room gives it away?

and the girls must see at least a couple of punters a day just to pay for the room.  then there is the listing fee for this site.  not sure what it is but there must be a charge.

surely the hotels are in on this?

I find it very hard to believe that hotel management is unaware of what's going on in their own rooms. The hotel staff certainly knows about all the requests for clean towels. Women cleaning the halls have smiled knowingly at me a couple of times as I was standing there knocking on a door. Whether or not the agents have to slip a little red envelope to someone under the table is another question.

When I used to do hotel gals - they had their own supply of towels/do NO use the hotel towels.

They're actually getting room service to supply towels nowadays?

Wow - guts!!

I believe some of the hotel staff are paid to keep a blind eye or maybe two.

Of course the hotels know what's going on but it's just a business decision that they've taken.
I'm sure if they could be fully booked without the WGs, they'd prefer not to have them.
But this is HK and business is business.

Oh I think hotel management has to know, starting from the registration of the rooms, what with sometime potentially dodgy documents presented, girls swapping rooms, losing keys etc.  The hotel cleaning staff HAS to know, with all the condoms, tissues and even other marks of sexual activities.  I don't think the HGs use hotel towels though, they use their own supply.  Lastly, the R hotel in TST East always put all these HGs on certain floors, or even certain parts of the floors.  Too much coincidence otherwise.

Basically, these agents get hotel rooms from travel agencies/hotel room consolidators - those which has blocked #number of rooms/year at a discounted price and re-sell them via other travel agents as pre-paid coupons.

The agent would check in with these coupons and the hotel has to live up to the contract that they've signed with the consolidators.

Yes, they know what the room is going to be used for - but as long as the "operator" does not make things too difficult for the hotel (whatever that means!), then everything is hunkey dorey

Just IMHO

I'm quite sure the hotels know. Some of these floors probably have a dozen single girls so it's almost obvious. If we know, and there are websites showing it, then the hotels can't be that naive.

IMHO...they must know.  I agree with the above mentioned items - traffic, rubbish, linen use, etc, etc, etc.  I think SEAJ's observation is the most salient...no waves, nor problems, no issue.

However I do have a related data point from N.America (Western US.).  I happened to be with some clients and vendors (hotel industry) at dinner and then drinks.  We got to be talking about nuisance room occupants in general.  Blah, blah, blah.  A mis-matched couple (older mediocre looking gentleman and a very HOT young lady in very high hemline low bustline dress) came into the bar and a comment was made about how it was a match made in money.  I joked to one of the hotel sales people that they must get some good stories about WGs and the such.  Of course there were some BUt more salient was the question as to whether they did anything about WGs.  They did joke that they would never officially condone/allow such activities but no one has ever called the police either.

Nope, unless they caused a nuisance.

I agree ..... it's also advisable for the punters to behave themselves and be as discrete as possible, the managers don't want some irate tourists coming down to complain at the front desk.

I'm sure they probably do, but don't ask question as it's your business what's going on as long as thing stay nice.  Something like .. "lease don't do alot of screaming with S&M in your hotel room because it may bother the other guests."    Other than that, what you do in your room probably is your business.

yeah, they paid for the room. Besides tearing it up and making lots of noises that disturbs other guests, what you do in your own room is no one else's business.

that's a good point ... actually that's probably a source of cheap rooms for the 007s ... the agencies have contracted to fill a certain number of room nights, and they're on the hook if they don't make the quota.

The hotels have surveillance cameras. The service people see different men and women go into same room. How would they not know? They just close a blind eye for the sake of business.

even if they know or not know, i dont think it matters to the hotel so long as what happens in the room stays in the room. who really cares if there are condoms in the basket or towels that need to be replaced? i've lived in hotels with a gf before, and had prob as much sex in there as a wg does, with request for towels and such. but i booked the room, and as part of the deal they gotta clean the garbage, give me towels, etc.  i think as long as the wgs are able to secure the room, whether the hotel knows or not isn't even a concern because they cant do anything about it. even though using their premises for the purpose of business transaction may be questionable, there is nothing they can prove because they cant invade into the guest's room to catch them red handed

well, as long as all of the guests are civilized and more or less polite.
Maybe the HG price range naturally limits and controls the type of clientele, but you can very easily see some low-life a-holes stirring sh*t just for the hell of it. Hotels don't want that sort of trouble. It would affect business in the big picture.

There also must be unusually high amount of traffic walking in and out for the HG's
But perhaps that just blends into the regular traffic.

Of course the hotel staffing and management knows is a common business practice to always keep hotel occupancy as close to 100% possible. Also probably theres a ssection of floor or rooms are assigned for services only.
