LOL! I've stepped inside before to check out what they have outfit-wise before making my decision whether to stay. However, agree that it would be impossible to get them to change into an outfit for you before you've agreed to stay!!

My usual routine is:
1. Knock on the door.
2. Look directly into her cam and smile.
3. When the door is opened, smile and say hello.
4. Check her out top to bottom. If necessary, gesture and ask her to twirl so I can see her butt, if she's willing.
5. If I like, quick check on her pricing, then step inside. If I don't like, smile and say sorry, and move on to the next door.

SEAJ, it's obvious I was trying to be humorous in that response and no, I have never gone to these walk-ups since I am in the USA and walk-ups are not as easy to find as they are in Hong Kong.  I don't think there is anything wrong to ask her to show what outfits she has since it is a transaction and it's the negotiation stage.  Asking her to wear the outfit is a different issue since for that, you're supposed to already accepted her for her services.

CunningLinguist, #4 is hilarious since are they that willing to show you their butt even before you agree to stay?  How do you usually go about checking what they have available outfit-wise before the decision of staying?  I also agree it's impossible to get them to change into one or more outfits for you before you agree to stay, unless you are willing to pay them a outfit modeling fee. LOL!

The only thing that is obvious is that you don't have a clue...understandably as you've never even been.

So Great Almighty One, would it not be judicious for you NOT to give your suggestions to us plebes here?  
For this site is about sharing accurate information instead of inaccuracies.

Someone who really IS gonna try going up to a walk up is going to have such high expectations from your conjectures made up as fact that it truly will be a disservice.

Since when was being clueful a requirement in the Q&A section.  I was asking a question and in all the forum postings, people talk about negotiating so there is nothing wrong with asking what they wear.  Even in the US,you can actually request the outfit as that's what the PO will tell you both over the phone and in writing as they do try to accomodate requests even on RB.   Note, you were the one who came up with the idea of them modeling in different outfits since that would be would indeed be unreasonable.  No one will have high expectations as it's always YMMV in all situations and what one gets and reports will not be accurate because each person is treated differently.  It is one thing to make a comment but another thing to try to start a flame war which is what you're attempting in your posts including the one above.  I was asking a question, and was not suggesting anything as you have claimed.    Everyone has been a newbie at one point including yourself and there is nothing wrong with asking questions since the more experienced will share their answers.  As with anything in life, if you don't ask, you will never know the answer.

First thing first, please do note that I am NOT trying to start a flame war or anything - but you had originally asked a question and when replied to then took the discussion towards the idea that it is de-rigeur to slowly chit chat, check out, bargain and at leisure set parameters for the "encounter."  The OP/Aznlover specifically asked about the etiquette/modus operandi when going up to Walk-ups, and whilst you started off asking a question, you then proceded to start suggesting that all you outlined is not only possible, but also should be how to act when going to WG's

This is Hong Kong - and I'd think that since you're already a 36 YO and an ABC who can speak all those Chinese languages AND presumably have already read a few of the threads here - that you'd already visited/quite familiar with Hong Kong and should know that there is no way that these Walk-up gals are even going to entertain the thought of dilly-dallying with what you are suggesting is possible to do.  These gals do multiple guys a day and open their doors a hundred times - what, they're gonna let you in and then discuss your requirements?  Like I said - Get Real!

I object to your conjectures being masqueraded as facts - specifically when its central to the question being asked by the OP.  Yes, OK to ask questions - but not when you then direct the discussion towards cuckoo-land.

Good that you're not trying to start a flame war.  Yes, I did originally ask a question and CunningLinguist did mention that he was able to see what outfits a WG has available so I was wondering how he did it.  So I think it was a misunderstanding on your part.  I know this is Hong Kong but I have only visited Hong Kong only once and that was in 1985 so many things have changed and I've never seen the WG's before so just trying to get more information on it as it sounds good for a trip.   It just seems that it's a open thing in HK compared to the US so I thought it might actually be easier to make certain reasonable requests as the hobby seems to be completely legal there.  I am not asking them to show/parade in their outfits since that's unreasonable, I was asking to see what they had available for their outfits, that's actually not unreasonable since like CunningLinguist said, they won't be in their OL outfits anyways so better to ask first.

Oh Almighty1 - care to explain in simple language what you're trying to say with all that gobbledygook?

Look-it - yes, we don't need a flame war - at least let's agree on this.  And this being the case - lets get back to basics:
- The question was what is the etiquette when going up to Walk-ups.
- You have stated that you are clueless as to the scene in Hong Kong
- You start off asking a question - but then proceeded to make suggestions as to what one can do at a Walk-up.
- I told you to please NOT make such a suggestion as its just plain wrong.

Now unless you've got some more thing you think is " a misunderstanding on my part" - why don't we just move on.

On this forum, we're big on sharing correct and useable information - not clueless speculation or macho bravado.
