There has been alot of talk about DATY in more than one post on this Forum. As many YES' as there are NO's. Plenty of Pros and Cons. However I have taken the liberty of starting a new thread because my question is very specific.

I think worth considering, I love DATY but I have never done it with a WG.

On the other hand, I do enjoy a DFK session with a WG.

I realise some people simply object to all DATY because "That's where wee comes from...". That is not the question here. So ignoring the "but that's where wee comes from" factor and ONLY considering the chances of catching an STD, is DFK any "safer" than DATY?

Considering most WG's use their mouths for more than just kissing anyway, are we (the do DFK but dont DATY) any "safer" than the anything goes DATY guys? So, ask yourself... do you love DFK but are reluctant to go DATY? is there a difference in terms of STD's?

If it is true as has been said on this forum many times before, the ONLY really safe sex is sex with NO exchange of bodily fluids (and I do agree with this), perhaps DATY and DFK are much the same, in which case...

Good question bro. With respect to HIV/Aids, the difference is in the bodily fluids being exchanged - Saliva from the mouth and fluids discharged from the genital organs; man's penis and woman's vagina. The HIV concentration in saliva is very low and saliva is a poor transmitter of the virus. For those reasons, DFK is considered to be very safe. But the danger will increase if the couple have cuts in their mouths, thereby allowing the virus to pass from the blood of the infected party to the blood of the non-infected party. The HIV concentration in blood is high and blood is the best transmitter of the virus.

For DATY, the fluids being exchanged are saliva from the man to woman and vaginal discharge from the woman to man. From what I wrote above, the risk for the woman is low because she's receiving saliva. The risk is higher for the man because the concentration of HIV is higher in vaginal discharge.

For BBBJ, the fluids exchanged are saliva from the woman to man and penis discharge from the man to woman. The man is now receiving saliva so the risk is low. The risk is now higher for the woman because the HIV concentration is higher in the man's penis discharge, even if he doesn't cum.

As with DFK, the risks will increase greatly if the mouth or the genital organs have cuts or sores.

Based on the above, and knowing my mouth and dick have no cuts or sores, I will DFK and receive a BBBJ, but I won't DATY. But that's just me and everyone must decide for themselves. Some may want less risk and some may be prepared to accept more risk.

Also, this refers only to HIV/Aids. There are plenty of other nasty STDs that can be caught with any kind of sexual activity, including DFK.

Edit: just saw your edit and, yeah, that pretty much agrees with what I wrote. But one other thing - if the woman's discharge during DATY is very high, the man could easily swallow quite a bit and anything that gets into the stomach can pass into the bloodstream. Think alcohol and drugs. Same thing if the man CIM and the woman swallows - this would increase the risk for the woman.

Just for clarity - either party is ONLY at risk if their partner is already infected with HIV. No HIV, no risk.

The AIDS virus is utterly destroyed by the slightest contact with gastric fluids. Saliva itself is a very inhospitable environment for the human immunodeficiency virus.

I'm not sure there is any STD that can survive the gastric acid in the stomach.


If the man has no cuts in his mouth, the possibility of HIV infection from DATY is so low as to be statistically insignificant.

With all these behaviors - DFK, DATY, BBBJ - the risk of HIV infection is extremely low. However, you want to be safe beyond a shadow of a doubt, give them all up. And since condoms have been known to break, the guy who can't countenance any risk at all would be well advised to give up covered sex with WGs as well.

Even if your oral health is generally good, recent flossing or brushing teeth can open up very small cuts in the gums that would allow transmission of the virus to the one giving oral sex, i.e. man giving DATY or woman giving BBBJ.

Just read this in a website:

"Although some sources will tell you that the risks of transmission through oral sex are minimal; other studies have suggested that as many as ten percent of HIV transmissions could have occoured through oral sex."

Doesn't sound "statistically insignificant" to me.

As far as I'm concerned, I've never read any cases or heard anytihng about the HIV virus being contracted through kissing someone. It's like holding hands with an HIV infected person, or drinking a glass right after they've drank from the same glass. but DATY on the other hand, while insignificant and hard to catch, it's still very possible.

I have even considered using that clear film you wrap sandwiches in, "cling wrap" or whatever it's called. Anyone tried it?

I don't think there's any question that DFK is less likely to result in the transmission of an STD than DATY or BBBJ. But to me - and talking only about HIV - it's the same as saying you're less likely to be killed by a meteorite than die in a plane crash.
