Lol. The subject title made me chuckle. But yeah, I wonder how everything is going with all the protests.

But I visited a few girls in HK island, various places. They said their business are seriously affected.

I just got back from a week in Hong Kong - wrote a post about my experience in Restricted Access section...

My perspective is just from the bars in Wan Chai, so might be different depending on what you're looking for... for the most part I wouldn't had known their were protests going on if not for the news coverage. I had a few people say that things are a little slow, but around midnight - 2AM it seemed almost every bar had a lot of action going on.

Things were so fun that I was considering extending my trip a day, but wanted to get out before the July 1st celebration (?) - just in case.

Hope this helps!

Bumping this thread...

It's obvious that the situation in Hong Kong has gotten worst with no end in sight. I have flights and hotels booked just a month away. Are the usual punting grounds (TST, MK, WC, CWB, NP) safe?
Is business at 141s and HGs slow? SWs? Thai nests?

I really don't know if I should cancel my trip. I like WC and CWB and was hoping to do some eating and shopping there like I always do. It makes me sad that I won't be able to go to YL for my favourite Thai nest. Is the Airport Express affected as much at the MTR cancellations? Cancelling my trip would be a disappointment as I have a layover in a city I do want to visit. But if HK is still like this at the end of August then am I fucked?

Never knew so many of you come to HK just to do the girls here !  lol

The protests sure have taken its toll on the number of reports and replies in this forum
But all in all everything is relatively safe and if you're caught up in one of the protests all you need to do if they hassle you is to tell them they are correct in what they are doing and support them, that all they want to hear and will leave you alone

In general there shouldn't be a problem. For e.g. during the historic march this sunday when 1.7 million walked from CWB to Central, the MTR was jammed on Hong Kong island and roads blocked for a few hours but after that things went back to normal.
There are a few marches and rallies planned until end aug and there would be more (I assume) till the situation has been resolved. As bro @twiceaweek said things are relatively safe as long as you don't venture too close to events where riot police and protestors are in a face off.

As long as u don't wear black or white and get the hell out of the sections of town where shits going down, it's fine. There are interruptions to punting at times due to logistics but no need to be too worried about accidently getting caught up in the drama.

Went punting during the day they happened to have the 1.7 million march on Hong Kong Island. Nothing but "Please wait" signs on the doors. I am sure the WG's did not all happen to be busy that day!

I am wondering why Macau is NOT in the protest.   There are NOT joining in with HK.

There are being taken over too by China or the laws are different ??

I see regular crowd, but business gets affected per MTR closing timing (these days MTR close at 10pm). So you expect it's pretty crowded from 6pm-9pm
