Hey everyone,

Newbie here, I'm a BBC (Brit Born Chinese) but will soon be visiting HK for work and found this site! Some awesome stuff here, I've posted a couple things in the Rest of the World section for anyone visiting UK / London

Anyway, my Chinese language is pretty bad - I speak basic Canto and Mandarin, but have no idea about any of the words used for this kind of thing. I know there's a list of general mongering terms, which is no problem, but maybe there could be a phonetic / pronounced version of common phrases / words?

For example, I know 全套 means 'Full Package', but I have no idea how to say it in Canto - Just a phonetic idea would probably be enough for me to at least be understood though.

So if people can help out, we could start a 'Canto phrasebook' kind of thread for visitors and newbies like me - would people be up for that?

1) I see a lot of 141 reports are $600+, are the ~$350 girls decent or generally to be avoided?

Thanks teltel, but I can't actually read Chinese very well at all! I stopped Sunday Chinese school at 9 when I went to boarding school away from home, so I only can read very basic things...

There are some Chinese translation sites for Mandarin, but the Cantonese ones don't seem very helpful... I guess I need to try to find some subtitled Cantonese porn or movies

Take Teltel's Canto Phrases List to one of those $350 girls and ask her to Show and Tell each phrase on list. Tip her well for the lessons. You may need to go back to her for continuing education.

Best to find a girl who is both local for the correct pronunciation and a milf as only mothers have patience to teach others. Good luck!

No need to be able to read traditional chinese, just print the list (a few copies may be required).

You can take the list to prospective ladies, point to what you want and agree price. Best if you have a phone to write the numbers on.

Also you could leave a copy of the list with the lady, she may ask for a copy and may see it as a way of attracting a few more non-chinese speaking customers.

Another thing is to use the list to check services shown on this site, the original listing was obtained that way. It was designed to be used as such.

Hehe, I guess I'll get the list on my phone and ask for lessons like doghead suggested ;)

What I might do then is write down phonetic transliterations if I can remember and compile it. For example, I found 1 thread about how to say:


'BBBJCIM' - 口爆不穿袋 - hou bauw mmm dai doi - Kǒu Bào Bù chuān dài - transl: 'mouth explode no wear bag'


I added the pinyin from google translate, does that work in PTH? Anyway, it would be great to have your list with pinyin / Canto transliteration for guys who can speak a bit like me Looking forward to visiting and trying things anyway, will try to avoid the gwailo surcharge ;)

Hand Job - 打飞机 - da fay gay - Dǎ fēijī - tr: 'Hit aeroplane'

The translation app "SayHi" has Cantonese as well as Mandarin.

I'm in a similar boat as the OP (ABC instead of BBC though, can't read a lick) and when looking for Canto help, I've used Cantodict quite a bit.  They give you the Jyutping (and Pinyin) and you can search by English meaning (literal English is usually your best bet, so YMMV searching for punting terms directly), single Chinese characters or Chinese phrases as well.  While plain phonetic Canto works for me when I should already know the proper pronunciation of the word and just need a reminder, Jyutping and the tones are helpful so I don't sound tone deaf and completely stupid when trying to use these words in conversation.

Sadly, it's not terribly user-friendly when you need to search large blocks of text, but for specific words/phrases, it's served me well.  If you're just looking for pronunciation help, searching the individual characters has worked best for me.  A nice thing about searching for the individual characters is the site gives you the meanings and examples of usage, which help me with the pronunciation since I always have trouble remembering what tones the numbers represent (yeah, I know, I want tones in my pronunciation guides, but can never remember them... *shrug*).  

For example, the according to Cantodict, the precise pronunciation of 'Full service' - 全套 in Jyutping is cyun4 tou3.  The cyun4 is the same as cyun4 gaa1 meaning entire family (and the idea of "all" in a lot of other phrases) and tou3 is the same as sau2 tou3 meaning glove.

It should be straight-forward (albeit time consuming) to put teltel's and modnar's lists through Cantodict and get the pronunciation help you need.  I still haven't built up the cajones to try out walk-ups, so I haven't gone through the exercise myself, but if you want to post the results of your work, feel free...


If only Google Translate had a Canto/Jyutping option...

Heh, nice to know I'm not the only illiterate Asian guy out there! Yep, I found Cantodict though it's a bit tricky for me as I need to figure out exactly which tone is which by comparison with stuff I 100% know how to say. I spoke Cantonese mostly as a kid to my grandparents, so it's hard to do this kind of thing when you basically have the vocabulary of a somewhat retarded 5 year old

I'll give the walkup thing a try when I'm there end of June / early July, it should be interesting...! I'm gonna try calling in advance with my fairly crappy Canto, I could make myself understood when I visited Beijing with my even crappier Mandarin, so I'm sure I can work something out. Or I'll just crash and burn, but who knows? At least I'll have something funny to post on here

*edit* For anyone else who doesn't read Chinese that well, one option I noticed is that if you click the 'Chinese' option when looking at a girl's page, sometimes Special Services are listed in more detail... Just use the 'Translate page' option in Chrome. Google Translate comes up with some funny translations but you can see the terms listed above like 'Toxic Drill' or 'Mouth Explode'

I was planning to go to Thailand but with the recent trouble there I cant go but in my research I found a list put together , it was a Word macro file otr something.
Anyway it had a number of phrases like
I would like to have sex with you
I would like to have sex with you and another girl at the same time in the same bed
I would like to have sex with you and another girl in the same bed at the same time and  we would all have sex together

etc etc

the list  had maybe 30 or 40 of these phrases.

The idea was to select the ones you want and they could be printed onto a piece of paper or card . The phrase or question was written in Thai and english and it could be shown to the girl so there wasnt any confusion as to what was expected .

it would be good to have a similar thing  so that us shoet time non Chinese speaking travelers can  visit a walk up and be at least able to shove a card in front of them with "the list"
